Skimlinks adds tracking to some, primarily retailers' links, to show they come from this forum. For some retailers, instead of using Skimlinks to turn the link into a tracked link, we use affiliated links set up through other third parties.

Please keep a note of who you sold them to. I by chance did this 2 years ago not like me as im so unorganised, but I thought I would just incase and have recently been contacted by the police as someone who I sold a card to has been a naughty and dirty boy the police contacted the phone company who then gave them my details as the sims were sent out to me.

I have had to give a statement to the police and may be called up in court as a witness in the trial! So please keep details of the buyers of your free sims, incase anything like this happens. Luckily I did so I haven't been under suspicion or anything. But I dread is earnest money and down payment the same think of the hassle that may have arisen had I not.

Making a statement and a potential court appearance is hassle enough! Im not really sure where this should be or indeed if it should be duplicated in the other forums, I haven't done so, but any mods please feel free to duplicate it in order to make MSEs aware.

I just got rid of a couple in swapitshop, should I note down as much details as possible? They were O2 Sims too! I would keep as much info as you possibly can. Mine were O2 too, but all of the phone 24 hour stock market clock keep records of who they are sent to and this can be given to the Police at any time.

It just saves the hassle should anything untoward occur. Im not trying to scare anyone, the detective was lovely with me and i'm in no trouble, but obviously they had to see me as the phone was down as mine. They can usually tell to within a few hundred yards, where the call was made or the text sent, so if somebody is using the sim maliciously from Scotland, and you are in London, you don't have much to fear.

Make money selling sim cards think it's fair to assume that by now both, O2 and the Police know that these sims are openly sold, swapped, traded or given away as incentives. Although it could be a problem for those using aliases in order to obtain more than 1 set of sims per address, when the police turn up wanting to speak to a Mr M Mouse or a Mr D Duck.

Besides if you are selling free sims, you have address records and invoices for accounts purposes don't you! And those who loved you dearly, Are thinking of you today. Should i stop doin this or is it ok? I would like to know where it is as i think its only fair to thank the people that have helped rather than just taking the information.

I have a box full and have ads to show I have sold them, I spoke to a policeman friend this would cover me also. They cant have a strong case if they are having to prove where the sim was purchased. Users saying Thanks 1. Theres nothing to worry about clairehas, so don't panic The guy who bought mine, his phone was siezed and as it was pay as you go it wasn't registered to him, but me.

Their case is very strong he was arrested a few weeks back and has his trial date soon. I must admit I found it bizarre how I was roped into it, but whatever. I suppose its their job and in this instance Im happy to help them out.

I just never thought I could end up involved in anything like this from just selling a simple sim card.

Swagbucks - Free Gift Cards for Paid Surveys and More

I actually wondered about this possible scenario a few months back. Finally got my answer. A thankyou is payment enough. Quote from O2 Site Just give us your details below before the 25th July and the 4 free SIM cards will be on their way. Then all you have to do is let everyone pamper you with attention as you take your time deciding who to give them too. I think its one of those stupid ideas although kind to share with us that people get. In all fairness, i assume u will get more money selling on ebay or through other means, so just do it.

I am more than certian many peopk use the credit and bin them or do what you do. As the ones I had from mobile phone I bought went to the chairty shop. Still in sealed packets. The time now is 5: Sign up for MoneySaving Emails. FAQs Privacy policy Past emails Unsubscribe.
